It’s official: 2024 is the year of Peach Fuzz. That’s according to the team of forecasters at the Pantone Colour Institute, which has elected this gentle, orangey-pink hue as Colour of the Year.
Pantone describes it as ‘a velvety gentle peach whose all-embracing spirit enriches heart, mind and body’. As a follow on from 2023’s much bolder Viva Magenta, it’s an interesting choice, reflecting a shift in consumers’ focus from noise and vibrancy to a calmer, more centred, more caring feel.
how to bring peach fuzz to your home
It’s a colour that creates a welcoming and comforting ambience in the home, whether appearing on a wall, home décor, or as an accent within a pattern.
As a colour for interior design and décor, Peach Fuzz pairs well with neutrals like creamy whites and even some beige tones. It is a natural with wicker, rattan, and bamboo pieces as well as grass rugs like sisal and jute.
Peach Fuzz goes easily with everything from earthy tones to bring warmth, with pastels to balance a delicate palette, or teamed with soft metallic tones for understated luxury. Peach also goes just as well with darker shades – think dark blue or dark green in furniture and woodwork.
