October #MonthlyMoodboard: Brown

Blog

3 Oct

As autumn fully settles in and the nights draw closer, there’s something irresistibly comforting about brown. This month, we’re celebrating this rich, grounding shade in all its forms – from soft caramels to deep chocolate tones.

Brown is the on-trend colour of the season – even Pantone’s colour of the year was Mocha Mousse for 2025. It’s everywhere in fashion and interiors right now, and for good reason: it feels warm, cocooning and sophisticated. Much like autumn itself, brown is about slowing down, embracing comfort and surrounding yourself with earthy tones that feel timeless yet current.

Why we love brown this month

  • It’s on-trend while still feeling timeless.
  • It pairs beautifully with warm neutrals and autumnal accents like terracotta, blush or olive.
  • It works across textures: leather, wool, boucle, jute, rich woods.

How to bring brown into your home this Octobe

  • Anchor your living room with a deep brown sofa or armchair, then soften with ivory cushions and a terracotta throw.
  • In the bedroom, choose a walnut headboard and layer with camel-toned bedding for a luxurious autumnal feel.
  • Add smaller touches: woven baskets, ceramic tableware in earthy glazes, or a boucle cushion in a warm mocha tone.

Pairings we’re loving

Brown doesn’t have to be heavy. Try:

  • Chocolate + blush for a romantic twist.
  • Taupe + olive green for an earthy, natural scheme.
  • Cognac leather + ivory for classic sophistication.

Brown is all about comfort and grounding – but this October, it’s also a statement. Embrace the season’s most on-trend colour and let it transform your home into a haven. If you’d like advice on how to bring this trend into your home, the team at Amanda Campbell Interiors would be delighted to help—don’t hesitate to get in touch.

This image was a lovely source of inspiration for This image was a lovely source of inspiration for our Cedar Hythe project. We were especially drawn to the double-sided fireplace and the soft, neutral tones, which we’ve incorporated into the design to create a calm, inviting flow through the living spaces.
It’s been such a rewarding project to work on - and we’re looking forward to sharing more soon as the home comes together.

One of our favourite projects from this year - a beautiful home in Cedar Hythe where the brief was all about texture and a soft, neutral palette. One of the rooms we designed was the kitchen, living and dining space to feel calm, cohesive and full of layered warmth.
Such a joy to work on this project. It’s going to look incredible!
