Last Tuesday, Lisa and I headed down to London for a wonderfully inspiring day in Shoreditch, where we were invited to preview Nkuku’s SS26 collection. The collection was excellent, with a real emphasis on considered design, beautiful materials and pieces that feel made to last. It was great to see so many thoughtfully crafted products and to start envisaging how some of these new designs could be incorporated into our clients’ upcoming projects.

We spent time chatting with Becky and Jess from Nkuku about product ranges and favourite pieces, and also enjoyed a particularly lovely conversation with Jess about her Visual Merchandising work. VM is how Lisa and I first met – styling for a well-known department store many years ago, long before Amanda Campbell Interiors existed – so it felt like a genuine full-circle moment.

Another highlight was discovering that Nkuku has a showroom much closer to home at Redbrick Mill, Leeds. Redbrick Mill is a major interiors destination, offering over 40 furniture and interiors brands across four floors, including Heals, Oka, Loaf Home, BoConcept, Neptune Home, Sofas And Stuff, Natuzzi, and Pooky Lighting. We can’t wait to visit the Nkuku showroom there and see their beautifully curated space in person.
We refuelled with a delicious Italian lunch at Cecconis, Shoreditch – wonderful food, stunning interiors and a striking black and white mosaic floor – before heading to The Mix by Bert, a collaborative showroom. Seeing Bert & May tiles, Farrow & Ball samples, Curiousa Lighting and more under one roof was the perfect end to the day.

So much of our work is carried out remotely, which makes days like this invaluable. Being able to see, touch and experience products in real life gives us confidence when specifying them, and always sparks fresh ideas for our designs.
