As we look ahead to 2026, colour is taking on a richer, more intentional feel. Research with colour, paint and interiors experts over recent months point towards a clear direction: warmer, deeper tones that bring a sense of comfort, elegance and longevity to our homes. This time of year is particularly insightful, as leading brands reveal their Colours of the Year, offering early signals of how our interiors may evolve in the months ahead. Setting a gentle baseline, Pantone has announced Cloud Dancer as its Colour of the Year for 2026 – a soft white that celebrates light, calm and understated simplicity.

Across the paint brands, there is a noticeable move towards depth and character. Lick’s Green 05 introduces an olive green that feels nurturing and grounded, ideal for spaces where you want to feel relaxed and at ease. Benjamin Moore’s Silhouette is a rich espresso brown, bringing warmth and sophistication and working beautifully as an alternative to black or charcoal. Little Greene’s Adventurer embraces confident colour with its deep aubergine tone, offering a sense of heritage and quiet drama. Soft pink-toned neutrals are also emerging as a versatile backdrop, adding warmth and subtle elegance, particularly suited to the softer British light.

Blue continues to be a trusted choice, with Dulux’s Rhythm of Blues – a trio of layered shades – allowing rooms to feel calm, expressive or uplifting depending on their use. Graham & Brown’s Divine Damson adds a softer take on red, with burgundy tones that feel refined and liveable, while Mylands’ Burlington Arcade No.216 provides a classic neutral that sits comfortably within both traditional and contemporary settings.

Together, these colours suggest a move towards interiors that feel warm, personal and thoughtfully composed – palettes designed to stand the test of time rather than follow fleeting fashion.
